Ding Ling phenomenon is one of the important spiritual incidents of the modern cultural history in the, 20th century. Perhaps its tragedy and deep intension can be equated with Hu Feng phenomenon and Zhou Yang phenomenon. The critical circle have appraised her creation with a great disparity for a long time, for the contrast between her passionate bold works at her age and depressive mendacious works in the middle and later periods. This text does not lie in affirming or denying them briefly, but regard Ding Ling's female indentity as the breakthrough point, to investigate some key problems of women and society, women words and major consciousness work, to research her works in sections, to discuss and appraising her creation of the thinking inheritor who pass on the may-fourth spirit and left-wing culture.The full text divides into three chapters altogether:Chapter one: on Ding Ling's living environment, experience and the source of her novel creation in youth. To analyze how Ding Ling generalize her women words tentatively into revolutional narration as an outstanding figure of women writers in left-wing literature after may-fourth movement. That's why to make objective description and a reservation to her creation psychology in this period.Chapter two: on the condition with her women's consciousness of the style that Ding Ling narrates at Yan An age. To analyze her life philosophy, femalism, illuminating spirit, the conflict and compromise between her artistic individual character and Yan An mainstream.Chapter three: to probe into the process in which Ding Ling was devoured by major consciousness, thus totally lost women's conscious, and her words become centralized and neutralized in her middle and later life time.
