The Investigation On College English Teaching In Newly-built Teachers Colleges Of Yunnan

The goal to build a better-off society in an all round way which was established in 16^th National Congress of Communist Party of China, provide a favorable opportunity to develop the higher education in Yunnan. At the same time, the higher education has to face the fierce international and domestic competition.At the age of the knowledge-based economy, the standard of higher education has been influencing the social and economic development of a nation and a region. The distribution of higher educational resources has a strong impact on the higher education itself, on the society and economy of the specific regions, on the level of education and culture, so does the personnel training . The unbalanced distribution of higher education in Yunnan at the present situation is most of the colleges and universities are centralized in Kunming more than the local regions. The four newly-built teachers colleges, which are combined with the former teachers colleges, TV universities, educational institutes, and normal schools, have grown up under the harmonious circumstances. They are Qujing Teachers College, Yuxi Teachers College, Chuxiong Teachers College and Honghe Teachers College. The purpose of the newly-built teachers colleges focuses on the needs of their complete courses and specialties. And now, they are responsible for training qualified graduates and professionals who are needed in the elementary education and social economy. With their development in scale, they begin to come to play more and more important roles in higher education and elementary education in Yunnan.But at the same time, all these newly-built teachers colleges have some disadvantages in the course of transferring their roles.
