Textual Analysis Of Huang Tingjian's Poems

As the typical cases of Song poems. Huang Tingjian's poems not only developed a school of his own in specific techniques of poetry and the art of poetry, but had a unique style in the choice of subject themes, which had a deep influence on the following poets. And this paper analyses and interprets Huang Tingjian's poems from the angle of texts in terms of different categories of materials.According to the quantity of the poems and the poet's different tendencies, the paper chooses Food and Drinking poems. Study poems and Inscriptions on Paintings, which are more representative compared with his other poems, as the analyzing objects. Firstly, the paper makes a further classification in each type above. For instance, Food and Drinking poems are classified by food, drink and utensil. While analyzing the Inscriptions on Paintings, the paper counts up the number of the painters and paintings mentioned in his poems. Secondly, the paper aims at discussing Huang Tingjian's techniques of poetry and the art of poetry by further research in those rather characteristic texts in each specific type of poem.At last, based on the statistics and analysis, the paper tries to illustrate the poet's mental experience, the features of times, and the cultural meaning in these excellent poems, which, to a certain extent, may reproduce the psychological venation of the poet under cultural background cf the times.
