During the period of 1954-1976, the relations between China and U.S., Soviet were changing constantly. The tension between China and U.S. began to ease in 1972. The alliance with Soviet in 1954 were severely damaged because of the military conflict of Zhenbao Island in 1969. This paper attempts to regard 1954-1976 stage as an integrated historical period, make Chinese Nuclear Strategy as the breakthrough point, analyze the interactions between Chinese Nuclear Strategy and the relations of Sino-US and Sino-Soviet in all-round way.The thesis consists of introduction, text, conclusion and references.The thesis is divided into four parts. Part One introduces the historical background of Chinese Nuclear Strategy. Part Two expounds American exertion of nuclear deterrence to China during the Korean War. China made decision to utilize foreign aid to develop its own nuclear weapon. At the same time, the Sino-Soviet alliance is cracked. Part Three narrates the Kennedy administration, the Johnson administration and Soviet Union tried to stop Chinese from developing Nuclear weapons by every possible means. Part Four presents China implemented active defensive Nuclear Strategy, which made the Sino-U.S. relations turned into ease in 1972, and hold back Soviet Union' s military attack on China effectively.It is concluded that, in order to prevent nuclear war and nuclear blackmail, and safeguard world peace and the national security, Chinese must own their nuclear force. Chinese Nuclear Strategy has safeguard national security effectively, and improved international status of China.
