Hedong Peis And Literature In Wei Jin Northen And Southern Dynasties

It's an effective study way of macro-mastering literature to study it from cultural point of view, to bring literature back to the cultural system in which it resulted. If literature in Wei Jin Northern and Southern Dynasties is studied from cultural point of view, literature must be closely concerned with two factors: clan and region, because by which the culture during this period was greatly affected. The study of Six Dynasties' Literature used to have much to do with clans, the writer of this paper, greatly influenced by Dr. LiHao's clan-region study method, try to study literature in the background of clan's and regional culture in Wei Jin Northern and Southern Dynasties. I choose the clan of Hedong Peis in Wei Jin Northern and Southern Dynasties as my study subject, base on the clan's learning and tendencies of Hedong Peis formed in the circumstances of Hedong culture, analyse the mutual influences and mixture of regional and clan's culture according to Hedong Peis'moving and spreading in Northern and Southern Dynasties, and realise the literatural influence on clan's and regional culture.The paper has five parts. In Part One, I first make a definite division of Hedong history and regional border, which refers to the southern parts of Shanxi including most of the present Linfen and Yuncheng. Secondly, I analyse the historical development of Hedong culture from the remote antiquity to the period of Northern and Southern Dynasties. On the basis of this analysis, I sum up the features of Hedong culture, all-embracing, boldly reformatory and realistic.In Part Two, I first analyse the beginning of Hedong Peis clan and its development in Han Dynasty according to reference books and historical records. Secondly I analyse the development of Peis clan in Wei Jin Northern and Southern Dynasties and its moveing and spreading in details as well.In Part Three, my focal point is the clan's learning and tendencies of Hedong Peis. It formed in the period of Wei and Jin and changed with different times and regions. From the literatural creation of the Peis members I analyse and sum up the literatural features of Peis clan with the interests of Hedong literature and the characteristics ofPeis' clan culture that its literatural aesthetic seek is the realistic and gloomy style.In Part Four, I analyse with charts the rise of the local literature in Hedong in the period of Northern Dynasty and explain the phenomena of Hedong literature from the aspects of politics, economy, military and so on. Pei Rangzhi's poems were just the product of the cultural mixture and harmony of various cultures in that period.In Part Five, I do some textual research on the official lives of the members in the pre-Tang poetry school, which was led by Pei Ziye of the Peis clan in Southern Dynasty. The literatural group of the pre- Tang poetry school is also studied and analysed.The first three parts of the paper are on the all-round study while the last two parts are on the cases study in differents regional and cultural conditions.
