There are many literary clans during the middle ancient times, which have been made a great contribution to Chinese literature, especially such as Chenjun clan Xie, Langye clan Wang, Pengcheng clan Liu and Lanling clan Xiao. But ,up to now there's no systematic or thorough study in Middle Ages' Hedong three clans(ie clan Pei, clan Liu and clan Xue) . This thesis is intended to research literary history and literary features of Hedong three clans, especially into their family tradition and family learning' affect the members of three clans' views and creatures of literature.The first chapter give a minute description to clan Pei's conditions. According to a vast amount of epitaph, clan Pei's directly ancestry is Ying Zhen, a prince of Qin. The branch of clan Pei is various. During the last years of the Westen Jin Dynasty, clan Pei had to move to all over the country. Some of them go down south following imperial family, the others stayed in the north or move to Liangzhou. In the period of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the members of clan Pei gained a powerful position relied on there profound scholarship and remarkable military talent. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, clan Pei was more glorious. The features of clan Pei's family tradition is adoring to Confucianism, observing propriety, practicing thrift, experted in pure conversations, believing in Buddhism, versed in both polite letters and martial arts, skilled in historian and abounded with writings.The second chapter discuss the general style of clan Pei's literature. Most of the members of clan Pei were have quite a talent for literature in the period of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, among them Pei Ziye and Pei Rangzhi were the men who above average. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, clan Pei gained more considerable literary accomplishment. They compiled poetry anthology, joining literary salon, as well as writing works.
