Luoyin is a great writer in late Tang Dynasty who lived a life of frustration. He took imperial examination for promotion from 27 to 55. But for his unbridled character, poems and essays, he offended bigwigs. Besides his ugly appearance he failed repeatedly. He missed the chances time and again .At the age of 55, he returned to Qianliu in the east, his fate changed, but his character declined.Luoyin had large circle of friends, including three kinds literator; government official; Buddhist and Taoist which influenced his creation of poems and essays, and his thought.Luoyin produced a lot of articles, but much of them have been lost. Collection of Luoyin by Wenhua Yong collects his widest existing poems and essays. His essays, especially the Book of Slander and the Two Sames are his magnum opus which embodying his thoughts. The Book of Slander rectifies politics and aids society, giving free vent to one's grievance, express his emotion. Based on the kernel of Confucianism, Luoyin is to recommend and not to slander himself. He discerned his times, believing that if only person in a low position living in a troubled times, sticking to personal integrity with a wise and able monarch and worthy minister, it is much hopeful to save the political situation. The Book of slander gives free vent to his grievance expressing his emotion, commonly covering up his aim of rectifying politics and aiding society. His strong emotion is coherence with a few factors. The Two Sames is he marks of Luoyin's governing theory. Introducing Taoism into Confucianism based on Confucianism trying. He gives effective prescription of cultivating morality and governing society for the monarch of Tang Dynasty. For monarch cultivating morality is precondition for governing society, governing society is the aim of cultivating morality. From this point of view, Taoism and Confucianism is a unity of opposites. They are both governing methods for monarch. So the author called the book "the two sames ". Now the existing poem of Luoyin is more than 480, most of them are "modern style" poetry of Tang, only about 10 is ancient style Chinese poetry. His poetry has abroad contents. It can be divided into 5 kinds: poems describing flunking examination; poems paying respect to eminent person and government official; poems meditating on the past; pomes describing objects; pomes describing others ect. They directly or indirectly, especiallyindirectly, reflect the social reality of late Tang Dynasty. Reflecting the surviving state of low literator though strongly subjective. Both his ancient style Chinese poetry and "modern style" poetry of Tang almost embody the style of swiftness and frankness.Luoyin is a writer that can not be ignored whose articles have the trace of the transition from Tang Dynasty to Song Dynasty.
