| The main purpose of this dissertation is to arrange and interpret that if the Chinese ancient scripts of Shuowen Jiezi(The dictionary of character's etymology) only stem from the Kongbishu(charactors' material stored between wall at Confucius' home); and try to explain what were the resources which Xushen(author of Shuowen Jiezi) used when he wrote ShuowenJiezi.Firstly, this dissertation discuss the forms of characters in the Shuowen(abbreviation for ShuowenJiezi), then expound the divergences about Chinese ancient scripts' origin of Shuowen. In the Shuowen, the chief form of characters synthesized the forms of Zhuan, Gu, Zhou. This is not a problem. But the forms of ancient scripts and Zhou in second form in the Shuowen are or different with the chief form of Zhuan, or different with the chief form of Zhou. There are many points about these ancient scripts' resources. The dissertation emphatically interpret the views of Mr. Wangguowei and Mr. Shengjianshi, and draw the conclusion that the focus of divergences are that the resources of Shuowen are not only Kongbishu but also the others ancient scripts before. This dissertation has drawn 144 characters for example and made a compare from about 500 characters which are written in the Shuowen. These characters are all accounted as "the ancient script is". Through comparing with the Jiaguwen(characters caved on the tortoise-shell) and with Jinwen, we can have a experienced understanding and can realize the resources of Shuowen are not only Kongbishu but also the others. The result of analysis tells us, the ancient scripts are according with the series of characters of Qi, and even with the characters of Jin and Chu, or Qin. Some ancient scripts don't only appear at Zhanguo, the same form canbe traced back to Jinwen, even Jiaguwen.Further, this dissertation integrates with the life's area, the period and the deeds of Xuzheng, and we can finally draw a conclusion: when Xushen wrote Shuowen, he read Jinwen for reference in which Chu, Zhou two are in the majority. For more, he referred to eight texts of ancient scripts in the imperiled library in his dynasty, of cause including Kongbishu. |
