This thesis named by "Research on Passive Sentences in archives of early Qing-Dynasty" studies two kinds of sentences which are conceptually passive (unmarked) and formally passive(marked) respectively. The paper is based on the corpus from "Archives of Ming-Qing" in process plate that are part of storeroom contents of Qing-cabinet..The period is from 26th of the first month in the first year to the fourth year of ShunZhi, i.e from 1644 AD to 1648 AD.Research on Bei-Sentence has achieved much in the field of both Chinese history and Modern Chinese. However, conceptual sentences have not adequately concerned due to complexity of collecting corpus. Seeing that, I will investigate the datum mentioned above and exhaust all the conceptual sentences and Bei-Sentences in them, based on which description and analysis is given. The paper consist of four chapters:Part one is an introduction as a whole framework. The origin of data, the perspective of selection and the clue of each chapters are included in this part.Part two discusses conceptual passive sentence. Classification is made in accordance with the predicate construction. The sentences are arranged from the simple to the complex. Each sentence of subclass is given adequate description formally and semantically.Part three is Bei-sentence. Considering the meaning of "suffering" is the origin of the passive meaning of Bei-Sentence and corresponding cases are still found in the Archives, we discuss them first. The following sections are still ordered according to the predicative construction, from the simple to the complex.Part two and part three discriminate animacy of the referred of nouns and enumerate the adjuncts of two parts.Part four contrast the conceptual sentences and Bei-Sentences. The paper investigates theverbs of the two sentences from five aspects, that is: (1) V ± le; (2) V±T/Num (T, Num代表 时量宾语) ;(3) V± "zhe";(4) zai/zhengzai ± V; (5) V± Self controlling verb. Furthermore, we put together the conceptual sentences and Bei-Sentences of the same predicative construction and make contrast. The last part give an overall conclusion to the two kinds of sentences. The thesis itself aims at founding their formal features and inquire into the relation between them. We hope to find the regular patterns of the two kinds of sentences in utterance.
