An Analysis Of Rhetoric Features Of Language In Contemporary Administrative Essays

From the rhetoric and pragmatic perspective, the thesis analyzes the rhetoric features of the language in contemporary administrative essays. Besides, it analyzes these essays which ways they use and develop completely the feature and advantage of Chinese so they can improve the expressional effect. In the analysis, the concerned knowledge on linguistics and Chinese are used, including phonetics, lexicography, grammar, rhetorics and pragmatics. The whole paper was divided into five chapters with exception of concluding remarks and bibliography.Chapter one introduces the research reason, the research object and the source of corpus.Chapter two discusses the complex principle. At first, the complex sentences are used much more in administrative essays and which is one feature of administrative essays. Meanwhile, a vast amount of compound sentences are also used in administrative essays, especially complex compound sentences. These sentences make the article be coherent and smooth, make the logic in the essays be compact.Chapter three is concerned with the concise principle of the language in administrative essays. The language of administrative essays advocates to be brief and simple.Chapter four deals with figures of speech in administrative essays.Such as metaphor is used in order to make the essay be vivid , "jingce" (警策) is used so the essay can be profound and so on.Chapter five approaches extract of the words and sentence pattern. The administrative essay pay much more attention to the selection of the words, especially the important reports which are relate to the politics, the policy, the carrier, the success and failure. So the words of the essays must be deliberated. At the same time, administrative essays pays attention to the selection of the sentences pattern by making good use of Chinese, such as combination of orderly sentences and disorderly sentences, long sentences and short sentences, positive sentences and negative sentences. At last, administrative essays are after harmony and grace of syllables, which are beneficial for announcement and lecture.Concluding remarks generalizes the content of the thesis and points out the disadvantage of it.
