The Ba-sentence is one of the most distinctive grammatical phenomena in modern Chinese language, meanwhile it is also one of the key and difficult issues in the teaching of the Chinese language to foreign students. It's common .for Korean students to underuse the Ba sentence or avoid the use of it during their primary stage of learning because they have no idea of what the Ba-sentence mean, or at what time or on what occasion they are supposed to use it, nor do they know about the restriction rules on syntax, connotation and pragmatic usage. An effective solution to the problem is to design a particular occasion for the language according to the different connotation of the Ba-sentence in helping foreign students build their sense of the language and create their rational awareness of the Ba-sentence. In view of the typical and regular faulty sentences made by the primary Korean students, this paper offers a penetrative analysis from semantic, syntactic and pragmatic perspective, as well as a comparison between Korean students and Chinese children during their learning process of the Ba-sentence. The paper also studies the disturbance by the rules of the native language and the subject language on Korean students. The applications of the Ba-sentence by Chinese children such as replacing, extension, shifting, linking and error-correction have left an important inspiration on the teaching thei Ba-sentence to foreign students. In the end, the paper makes constructive suggestions on the Chinese language teaching during primary stage.
