JanYu Structure is a special sentence type of Chinese, not in the sense that it is low in frequency of use, but that it is a common sentence type whose particularity is manifested in its special structure, semantic feature and pragmatic function. JanYu Structure conveys the concept of "leading something or somebody into a state or to some kind of behavior. The lack of JanYu Structure in Korean is caused by the syntactic function of Korean Case. Here the question arises of what sentence type serves the same function as that of JanYu Structure? Is there any regularity underneath? This is what this thesis focuses on. Guided by the general theory and method of comparative linguistics and with a unity of description with explanation, this paper studies the counterpart of the Chinese JanYu Structure in Korean language, the correspondent relation in the arrangement of surface linear elements and the semantic relation among different elements in deep structure. The first chapter is an introduction mainly to specify the scope of study based on the collection and reference of the current findings. The second chapter, based on the mutual translation corpus between Koran and Chinese, examines the different counterparts of ail kinds of JanYu Structure in Korean in an effort to uncover some regularity. The third chapter based on the finding made in the second chapter, analyzes the Korean correspondent forms to JanYu Structure. The fourth chapter starting from the corresponding relation of surface structure, goes further to make a semantic analysis of deep structure between the two languages.
