The Study On The Function Words Of Chu Ci

Chu Ci is the first great romantic works in the Chinese literature history, and has been studied from different aspects by people of different times. The thesis tries to analyze the usage of the function words of Chu Ci and it's value in the study of Chinese function words from the aspect of Linguistics.The thesis unfolds Chu Ci' s content from two aspects. Firstly,the thesis depicts its function words systm of concretely. Secondly, the thesis compares the system with other important documents of Pre-Qin period, mainly Shi Jing and Xun Zi, so as to expose it's study value, status and function in the function words system of Pre-Qin period.Acconding to the study,Chu Ci has a big number of function words,a perfect system,an extensive usage and a variety of characters.Concretely speaking,Chu Ci has various function words,which can be classified into 9 parts,thatis,pronoun,preposition,conjunction,adverb,construct-auxiliary,interj ection,tone word,prefix,suffix,compound function word and regular composition,among which,the more prominent include pion,prep,conj,adv and tone word.To the sum,the number of pron is 30,prep is 28,conj is 24,adv is 156,and tone words is 16,each part of which can embody the common traits of Pre-Qin period function words and also unique traits of Chu Ci function words.For the usage of a single function word,"zhi"along with"yi", "er" , "qi" , "yu" , "hu" and "xi" etc.has a extensive and vivid usages respectfully,tone word "xi" along with "zhi" , "suo" , "qiang" , "jian" and "jian" etc. has more prominent characteristics of Chu State dialect. The function words of Chu Ci embody not only characteristics of common language in Warring States period, but also the local characteristics of ChuState, especially the usage of a number of tone words of Chu State.The function words of Chu Ci is not only a mirror to show the function words of Pre-Qin period, but also vital for the study of the history of function words and even the history of Chinene.
