The Style Of Yu Hu Ci

Zhang Xiao-xiang was a famous author who lived in the south Song dynasty. He succeeded and developed Su Shi Ci's unconstrained style, took over patriots's responsibility , wrote plenty of Yu Hu Ci, many of them had a common topic-to unify the country. Yu Hu Ci have many styles, such as bold, unconstrained and circumbendibus. Sometimes, they are interacted. Yu Hu Ci not only became a very important part of Ci in south Song dynasty, but also had a great influence on Xi Ci. Therefore, study Yu Hu Ci can help us understand the development of Ci and the whole tone of Ci in south Song dynasty. This is very important.The whole thesis can be divided into two chapters. The first discuss the content and the styles of Yu Hu Ci. Zhang Xiao-xiang reflected society and his personal interesting through his Ci. So, Yu Hu Ci have many styles. The first chapter is again divided into three parts. The first is about patriotism. These Ci looks grief and indignation, but still hopefulness. The second is about leisure. Because of social ethos and Su Shi's influence, these Ci looks unconstrained. The third is about love and aspiration. They looks circumbendibus and they both important part of Yu Hu Ci.Based on the relation of contend and styles, the second chapter discuss why Yu Hu Ci looks bold, unconstrained and circumbendibus. This chapter is divided into four parts. The first discuss bold from four aspects. The second talk about unconstrained. In this part, we explained two words-bold and unconstrained at first. Si Kong-tu who lived in Tang dynasty defined them original. Then, we discuss unconstrained through its ancient and modern definition. The third part we discuss circumbendibus. The fourth part discuss the influence of Yu Hu Ci. Yu Hu Ci not only carried on Su Shi's style but also had a great influence on Xin Qi-ji's Ci, played a transitional role in the growth of Su Xin's Ci.Thus, this thesis makes a study on Yu Hu Ci, uncovered Yu Hu Ci's aesthetic characteristics. Critics used to consider the style of Zhang Xiao-xiang and Su Shi's Ci looks alike. But, it was unilateral. In fact, the style of Yu Hu Ci were variegated. It played a transitional role in the development of Song Ci.
