The Study About Jieduxingjunsima Of The Military Prefecture In Tang Dynasty

As an important local political system, Fanzhenshifu(the office of Tang military governor )in Tang Dynasty carried sharp feature of the age. Scholars have long researched in this field and have acquired noteworthy achievements. However, these researches mainly emphasized in the macroscopic study, defected in the specific case study. In view of it, this article chooses the Jieduxingjunsima as the subject.Jieduxingjunsima was an important assistant to Fanzhenshifu in Tang Dynasty. In charge of soldiers and military expenditures. It was the most professional military official in the systerm of assistants in Fanzhenshifu. Therefore, the research of this position will be helpful to understand the system of Fanzhenshifu and its relationship with the central government.Except for the preface, the article are composed of four parts:Part One: the evolution of Xingjunsima. This part reviews the evolution of Xingjunsima, during which this position transformed from military officer to civilian official assisting the military affairs. From the review we can find that the evolution of Xingjunsima was closely related with the evolution of Fanzhenshifu. To some extent, it reflected the change of relation between the central and local powers.Part Two: the function of Jieduxingjunsima and its action in the system of Fanzhenshifu. Utilizing plentiful historic records, the part analyses the traditional function of Xingjunsima and discusses in detail the new change in its functions. That is, taking active part in the local political affairs. This change made the position of Xingjunsima increasingly higher.Part Three: the selecting, promotion of Jieduxingjunsima. Based on relative materials, this part inspects the dynamic development of Jieduxingjunsima .The evolution of Jieduxingjunsima could be divided into four stages: the formation stage during the reign of Xuanzong, the rising stage during the reign of Suzong and Shunzong, the decline stage during the reign of Xianzong and Wenzong., and the revival stage after the reign of Yizong. The article analyses the reason of the rise and fall of the position of Xingjunsima, pointing out that it reflected the relationship between the central and localgovernment.Part Four: Jieduxingjunsima and the politic in Tang Dynasty. This part sets forth all around the relationship between Xingjunsima, military governor, eunuch, and soldiers. Through these investigations, we can understand more deeply the important position of Jieduxingjunsima.
