| In 1965, L.A.Zadeh,an American cybernetics expert, published one thesis about fuzzy set, and put forward the fuzzy theory, which made "fuzzy set" become a scientific term. This theory derived from fuzzy mathematics at first as a result of modern natural scientific and technical high development. Later on,its influence became extensive, and a series of relevant frontier branches of fuzziness emerged in succession. Under the infiltration and inspiration of this theory, fuzzy linguistics was set up.Though the time when the fuzzy theory emerged was relatively late, only a thing in last century middle period, the objective understanding about the fuzzy phenomenon in the world either west or east can trace back to the some century B.C. What this thesis discussed is a modern theoretical question on fuzzy language mainly.The study of fuzzy language in our country started at the end of the seventies of last century. "Fuzzy language study for the first time" by Professor Wu marked fuzzy linguistics's birth in China. For over 20 years, the fuzzy language study in our country mainly concentrated on the fuzzy semantic discussion. This thesis that conceived systematically and excavates deeply finished in time regarding dynamic speech communication as the main thread on the basis of receiving forefathers'achievements in research and closely combining pragmatics, cognitive linguisticses,etc. In the arrangement of the chapter, this thesis carried out brief generalization to"fuzzy" and"fuzzy language" at first, then concreted analysis and demonstration from three angles ,which are the functions, expressions, and acceptance of the fuzzy language.I .The theoretical foundation of the fuzzy languageTo probe into the question of fuzzy language,fuzziness is vital, "fuzziness" discussed here is not"fuzziness" in the general meaning, namely not an ordinary word, but a scientific term. Speaking strictly, "fuzziness" was remoulded thoroughly and went up on the stage tostrike a pose after the fuzzy theory in middle period of the 20th century. In this part, we have described the western philosophers'and linguists' explanation about the fuzzy language. Apart from clarifying and defining what "fuzziness" is meant, this thesis points out that the research objects include the "linguistic fuzziness" being made of fuzzy words and "parole fuzziness" rising from the surface clear languages in the specific linguistic contexts.II .The pragmatic functions of the fuzzy languageThe fuzzy quality of the language will not influence the information interchange betwen people and people. On the contrary, it is the fuzziness of words and sentences that play a positive role in communications, which makes the natural language have more flexible expressions. The pragmatic functions of the fuzzy language behave in main five aspects: flexible function, mild and implicit function, courteous function, self-protection function and literature aesthetic function.III. The expressions of the fuzzy languageThe fuzzy language all exists in generally regardless of the spoken language or the written language. The fuzzy language being propelled to be selected has objective factors, and subjective factors too. The expression way of the fuzzy language is varied. Divided roughly , there are such several kinds mainly, utilizing fuzzy words , fuzzy restrictions and creating irrational languages.In the communication of daily speech, accurate language is needed sometimes, and sometimes fuzzy language. The fuzzy language could give birth to its unique effect when fuzziness is in place. If fuzzy language is used improperly, however, it can't reach the normal communication purpose. The drawbacks deriving from fuzzy language expression are analysed by examples in this part.IV. The acceptance of the fuzzy languageAs a kind of special information transmission, the fuzzy language's "coding" mechanism and "decoding" mechanism are different from the general accurate information to some extent.
