| Content: Exploring on retribution fictions in Chinese ancient literature history, this paper is aimed at proving a viewpoint that the retribution idea has fashioned narrative characteristics of retribution fictions.The retribution idea is an important part of Chinese classic thoughts, which reflects Chinese special views on the world, society and human life. Moreover, the retribution idea is a supporting factor, which makes the plots of retribution fictions logical. Therefore, retribution fictions are more logical and well knit than other Baihua fictions.The prosperity of retribution fictions has a cultural background.
