The Yi Zhuan also said,"A good family will get good results,a family doing bad things will get bad results."The Confucian viewpoint holds that virtue and happiness are mother and daughter. The Confucianism pays attention to the retribution of the present world, emphasizes the blessing of self-harm,and believes that the individual is the subject of retribution, but it also affects the families and descendants,it has a clear utilitarian tendency. The philosophical basis of good and evil retribution of the Pre-Qin Confucianism is the theory of original goodness of human nature.Although the concept of good and evil retribution of the Pre-Qin Confucianism lacked strict theoretical argumentation, the main body of retribution, the standards of good and evil, and the ways of acting were basically completed.Because of this cultural soil,Buddhism’s "Karma" and Taoism’s"Chengfu retribution" can take root and sprout in the land of China. The biggest theoretical flaw in traditional retribution is that it cannot explain the phenomenon of no good and evil retribution in reality.People do not understand why doing good can get bad retribution and doing bad things but getting good retribution. The traditional concept of retribution was strongly questioned. At this time, the Chinese society urgently needs new theory of retribution to explain this phenomenon. With the introduction of Buddhism and the rise of Taoism, the ideas of good and evil retribution of Buddhist and Taoist all can successfully solve this problem.Buddhism extended the period of retribution to the "Three Periods",this life、the afterlife.later, thus solving the problem of good and evil without retribution. The "Karma" of Buddhism is based on the theoretical framework of "Three Periods and the twelve-linked causal formula"and "Six realms wheel of life",emphasizing the self-acceptance of the retribution and the ultimate pursuit of transcendental reincarnation.Taoism’s "Chengfu retribution" believes that people are not only responsible for their own acts of good and evil but also accept the retribution brought by their ancestors.Individual’s good and evil behavior will inherit to future generations. Therefore, the good and evil without retribution of the present world can be attributed to the accumulation of good and evil behavior of the ancestors.Taoism’s"Chengfu retribution" emphasizing that retribution can be made by others. It Accepts eternal life and immortal as the ultimate goal. The concept of retribution for good and evil in the Three Religions of the Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism all has its own characteristics. There are great differences in the standards of good and evil, the subject of the retribution, and the way of salvation. However, after the Six Dynasties, the concept of retribution for good and evil between the Three Religions of the Confucianism、Buddhism and Taoism began to appear as a mixture of mutual absorption and reference. This dissertation will explore the integration of the Three Religions from the four aspects of the theoretical construction of the theory of good and evil retribution in Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism, the reasons for integration, the interaction process, and the social effects of fusion. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Good and evil retribution, Karma, Chengfu retribution, Three Religions, Mind-nature theory, Interaction | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
