The 20th Century has witnessed the significant development of supermarkets in retail selling commerce, which has changed people's living style greatly and is playing a more important role in people's life.Purchasing commodity is one of the basic social activities in human life. With entering into the civilized era, social labors divide greatly, and at the same time depend closely on each other. Various living necessities can only be obtained from commercial exchanges. It is unimaginable to live without buying. Business buildings appeared long ago, and also it develops with the society for a long time. Before we enter the industrialized society, business buildings developed very slowly. While after entering the industrialized society, it changes with the significant change in human living conditions due to the economic development, fortune accumulation, and progress in technology. While purchasing, people spend more time on entertainments, and require much of comfort of the purchasing environment. Besides, the development of automobile is challenging the traditional purchasing style. To meet the need, many changes have occurred in the scale, layout, management and the service style of the commercial buildings, which have contributed much to the appearance of supermarkets.Since 1980s, business buildings in China develop greatly, and supermarkets appear accordingly. But there are still shortages in the development, design and management of supermarkets in our country because of the different economic conditions between China and other developed countries. And also China's supermarkets are challenged with the task of approaching to the international level. To narrow the gap of development between china's supermarkets and those of developed countries, defending the impulse of exporting foreign capital in retail selling, it is necessary for us to make a research on the theory of the supermarket design.In this paper, based on the extensive comprehension and investigation on thesupermarket, and the experience from the author's design, the author makes a deepresearch on the design of outer environment, inner space, visual image and the establishment of cozy atmosphere from aesthetic perspective. At the same time, theory is combined closely with the facts in this paper. There are both synchronic and diachronic researches in this paper as well as the distinct explanation of related concepts. In analyzing the design and the investment style, the importance of feasibility is focused. And. in analyzing the design on supermarkets, the basic, factors and details are also focused.The novelty of this paper lies in the researching method, which gives a full play in the systematic analysis of the elements of supermarket environmental design. It has explored the characteristics of supermarket design both functionally and aesthetically, and offered us a new way and future direction to make further study on it. |
