The businessmen in shanxi province who have become famous from Ming and Chirg dynasties are the lights in the history of Shanxi. But behind the businessmen and their splendid achievement, the women in the businessmen' s families seem to be forgotten during the long time. Applying the "role" theory, the thesis tries to approach the women' s position in the businessmen' s families of Shanxi province from the angle of modern female science. The thesis' foundation is the integration of local documents and rural survey.The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is the women" s role in marriage. Their married life was not happy.
