A Systematic Study On The Co-occurrence Of "出来" And Its Object

This thesis discusses the co-occurrence of the tendency verb "出来" and its object. It is based on the grammar of "Three Layer Theory", and offers a systematic study on their co-occurrence from multiple aspects in the way that combines form and meaning and that relates the dynamic and static study.This thesis is made up of four parts:Part One: Research developments and theoretical methods.This part mainly introduces the research developments on related problems in academic circles, which set a theoretical basis for our analysis. At the same time, the theory and method adopted in this thesis is introduced as well to offer a general guiding principle for the whole thesis.Part Two: The study on the co-occurrence of "出来" and itsobject in modern Chinese.This part offers a synchronic analysis of the co-occurrence of "出来" and its object in modern Chinese on syntactic, semantic and pragmatic levels, the differences in language use between Mandarin Chinese and dialects are also contrasted. Part Three: A diachronic analysis of the co-occurrence of and its object.This part observes the co-occurrence of the tendency verb and its object from the angle of "Ancient" in the Big Triangle in particular. We discuss this problem from the point of four periods, i. e., before the Tang and Five Dynasties, theTang and Five Dynasties, the Song Dynasty, and the Yuan, Ming, Qing Dynasties. We also strive to grammaticalize the underlying cause of the changing form and the nature of the object.Part Four: Conclusion.This part includes the problems existing in Chineseteaching as a foreign language and some peculiar situations that this thesis cannot account for successfully.
