There prevails at present the academic trend of thought in the studying circle of Lu Xun' s works that Lu Xun has inherited the tradition rather than combat against it. Directing against this, the paper refutes that Lu Xun was really anti-tradition ever since. Seven components are seen to support the view. The introduction is devoted to present the cause for the title-deciding as well as something about the discussion. In the first chapter, it is made clear that it's the tradition that brought up Lu Xun; in the second, the contradictory paradox in the deepest of Lu Xun' s anti-tradition-thought, the compound dialogues and polycolours are altogether analyzed in a fairly thorough way; the third chapter displays fully Lu Xun's comments and evaluation of the traditional culture in the light of Confucianism, Legalist thoughts, Monism, Taoism and Buddism; in the fourth, aiming at Lu Xun' s anti-tradition thoughts, clarifications are unfolded to show his cultural choice and stand in value judgement, also the unigueness, profoundness and the complicated connotations for his thoughts are all justified, in addition, various ideas degradating or distorting Lu Xun are all rebuted; for the fifth chapter, all the content is contributing to the facts that Lu Xun' s thoughts bear enormous value and significance in Chinese history of culture, Literature, in the conflict and competition between Chinese and western culture , and in the reformation of new Chinese culture transfered from the old one. Meanwhile, the historical restriction of Lu Xun' s thoughts has not been ignored. In the final concluding part, the centural thought of paper is deepened and promoted that the centural point of Lu Xun' s thoughts is "tramping out a way" , hence comes naturally the anti-tradition thought and the state of "hanging-up" . |
