Study of human culturology should be centered around Death, just as no man can escape from it since it is inherently related to values and meanings of life and the essential cares of human spirits. This paper analyzes and comments on Pushkin's Consciousness of Death, by resorting to some critical methods ,such as cultural criticism, historical aesthetics , and existentialist aesthetics, etc.As a poet sensing Death strongly,Pushkin is influenced by Death and then takes the poetic road towards Freedom and Consciousness. First, the introduction talks about two backgrounds of Pushkin's Consciousness of Death, one is the Greek mode about natural ration, while the other is the Hebrew model about spiritual transcendence. The first chapter deals with Pushkin's experience of Death in his life. This influence comes from stories told by his grandmother, his wet nurse and from the war of 1812 and his exiling to the southern Russia. In Pushkin's middle age, his experience of Death is full of religious colors. The Christian thoughts rooted in two facts: successive death of friends and relatives, the other is the "great disruption "of December Party. The second chapter introduces the Death culture in Pushkin's literary works. This culture includes two aspects: one is "imported" from ancient Greece, Britain, France and Germany, while the other is the traditional Russian Death culture represented by I.ajishefu and Rukefusiji. The third chapter discusses Pushkin's meditations on Death in his poems. Showing an active and optimistic youth enthusiasm the themes of his early poems are various: praising Ration from natural Death, enjoying carnal desires, singing highly of wine and beauty, promoting aesthetic and poetic life, demonstrating citizenship consciousness in adventure and war. He uses alarming verses to waken people's consciousness to life and defeats Death by writing and winningglory. But his later poems hold religious beliefs high for fear of flesh's Death and concentrates on soul's salvation, calling for the befall of Jesus with romantic imagination and for men's shouldering of the heavy cross to a bask in the religious light. These themes advance from childish human childhood to sensible adulthood. The consciousness of Death in his later poems are represented by a from-death-to-birth "Pilgrimage", that is to say, to explore meanings of life and world, to get salvations in exploring and to transcend in the love to the absolute truth of the eternal future, or in short, to the God. So Pushkin is the "Sun of Russia poems", the "Father of Russian literature", but also the "First love of Russia "and the "Speaker and Inspiration of Russian Spirits".
