This dissertation, based on the traditional diet and cultural customs of Mongolian nationality, elaborates on the dissemination, formation and development of Mongolian tea culture,and attempts to offer a multi-angle analysis of the origin of Mongolian tea culture and the connotation and denotation of the tea culture.There are five parts in this dissertation, namely, Introduction chapter one, chapter two, conclusion and Bibliography, with the focus on chapter one and two.Chapter one, an overview of Mongolian tea culture, consists of three parts-the origin and the spread of tea, the information about varieties, names and distribution of tea, and the main ingredients and functions of tea. the focus of this chapter is on the formation and development of Mongolian tea their practical functions.Chapter two offers a detailed introduction of Mongolian tea-making customs, tea-drinking customs, the symbolism of the tea culture as well as taboo customs. In this chapter, different tea customs in Mongolia are analyzed and their shared patterns are summarized and amplified theoretically to some extent; the intrinsic elements such as the symbolism of the tea culture are explored as well as the tea utensils and tea culture; the intrinsic cultural characteristic of Mongolian tea culture is further emphasized with the reflection that tea is not merely a drinkable thing that is physiologically needed, but also a spiritual need and an important form of enjoyment.This dissertation concludes that Mongolian tea culture, as part of human culture, embodies one of the important features of Mongolian culture-the free and perfect unity of man and nature, and also perceptually presents the basic aesthetic principles of Mongolian culture. From the angles of history, language, botany and philosophy, the forming process of Mongolian tea culture is recognized as the following stages: first tea as only a natural plant, then as a physiologically needed drink, and then as a from of enjoyment people can derive from tea-related like, and finally as a sign of the taste of national culture and a sign civilization.
