The process of EFL acquisition in the classroom is very complicated. As a result, affect in EFL acquisition has attracted more and more attention. Many teachers and researchers have conducted a lot of researches on this topic from different perspectives. Affective factors that are often discussed are motivation, self-concept, creative thinking, anxiety, empathy and the like. In EFL classroom, teacher's talk can serve as a tool of accomplishing teaching goals, and as a resource of students' acquiring language as well. At the same time, teacher's talk should also be able to create a positive atmosphere where students feel comfortable, friendly, and relaxed. The quality and quantity of the teacher's talk will have a great impact on students' affect, and on the failure or success of EFL learning as well. As a result, I conduct a qualitative and quantitative research on the talk of Tl and T2, and try to seek out whether there is any correlation between teacher's talk and students' affect, students' affect and EFL development. |
