The Absence Of Individualism And The Truth Of Literature

The thesis for graduation is doing research to long-pieces novels, in 1949-1966's Chinese literature. With the clue of human's individualism and the help of analysis to the characters and the form of this kind of "false", it wants to have there three aims: First, it discusses the truthfulness of long-pieces novels written in this period ;Second, with the analysis of the writing style of socialist realism, it discovers the mechanism, that turn the false into truth in the seventeen-year literature; Third, it will explore the motives, intentions and the historical unconscious hidden behind this mechanism with the investigation of whole intellectuals' exist ehviroment.The thesis things the long-pieces novels are the blend of false and truth. The false is the result of the absence of human's individualism. The absence of literary characters' individualism made them lose the vivid personalities and become the carrier of some ideology. On the other hand, socialist realism takes advantage of semblance of realism and a serial of narrating strategies to conceal the truth and deprive the writers' of their individualism. This kind of lost of individualism is because of the decline of culture of metropolises and the systematization of intellectuals. The need of survival, security and a sense of belongingness made the intellectuals abandon themselves and convent to essential ideology unconditionally.
