Yan fu turned to be proved as one of decisive roles in the historical process of China's Enlightenment and east-west cultural exchange. The study of Yan Fu's thought have been drawn wide attention from scholars home and abroad, who tend to lay stress on a certain topic of Yan Fu's thought. And owing to overlooking comprehensive study on Yan Fu's thought, the term, Yan Fu's thought as a system, has been seldom mentioned. In this thesis, Yan Fu seeked a new ideal resource and, on the basis of his profound academic accomplishment, founded his own enlightened thought as a system. As a result, he charted the course of China's rational modernization, which will advance gradually in due order. With a systematic view, Yan Fu's thought can be regarded as a system with the characteristics of unity, coherence, fomularization, generalization, and linkup, etc. Under the circumstance, the connotation of Yan Fu's thought in terms of philosophy, politics, economy, law, education, etc. can be showed clearly, which will greatly help us to understand the real image of Yan Fu.
