Xie Ke-Qiang And His Poems

Xie Ke-qiang is a very outstanding one among young and mid-aged poets of Hu Bei province in the new era, lie started his literary creation from late 60's and early 70's. More than 30 years?hard work brought him to the achievement of six poetry collection--- Sing Among Mountains and Rivers, Maiden with Black Eyes, Charm of Green, The Harp of Love, Sculpture of Youth and Lonely Journey. His long artistic life and abundant creation deserve much attention. In modem China, the wave of commodity economy impacts people's traditional way of living, their value system, stereotypes and life track. Modem civilization brings us varied interests and convenience. But at the same time, it causes the vulgarity and superficiality in some people's ideology. The creation of poetic circle declines. But Xie didn't put down his pen and kept writing poems with great passion and enthuiasm, trudging in the onely Journey?of poetic kingdom. This paper intends to comprehensively summarize the poetic creation of Xie KIe-qiang in different periods, which is classified into three parts: the military poem period based on his real life experience, the transient period after he retired from the military service and the period of onely Journey? when he stepped into middle age. Through the detailed analysis of characteristics of different periods, the author searches the poet's spiritual world and studies the poet's growing process. This is supposed to be very significant for the study of Hu Bei's poetry in new era.
