The present work aims at the pectination and conclusion of Luo Zhongrong's application and evolvement contrail of Harmony technique in different stages through the analysis of the composer's artistic songs and Harmony application, so as to review his achievements of development and embodiment of national style and characteristics in the aspects of the traditional functional Harmony, Romanism Harmony and modem Harmony.Accordingly, the body of this work falls into three parts:Part I From the 1950's to the 1960's, Mr. Luo Zhongrong mainly combined the national folk tonality and the traditional major and minor key Harmony together, and conducted his invention in accordance with the real life.Part II: From the 1960's to the 1970's, Mr. Luo Zhongrong's Harmony language initiates its new exploration and attempt which distinguish itself from the traditional system of functional Harmony; these innovations provide valuable experience for developing the national Harmony of our country.Part III: From the 1980's till the present time, using various contemporary and modem techniques, the composer composes for the-2-Chinese ancient poetry and lyrics. Focusing on three techniques this paper processes a somewhat detailed analysis.Through the analysis of Mr. Luo's application of artistic songs and Harmony techniques, it can be testified that under the alterations and innovations of artists, the western contemporary and modern techniques can be employed in the composition of our Chinese vocality works. The innovations and development of our national style are fully expressed in Mr. Luo's musical invention; and his experience of achievement contributes a lot to the establishment of Chinese Harmony system.
