This article consists of three parts:first, Syntactic Analysis of the "if" class Postulate Conjunctions and the related issues; second, Semantic Analysis of the "if" class Postulate Conjunctions and the related issues; third, Stylistic Analysis of the "if" class Postulate Conjunctions and the related issues. This paper consists of five chapters and about 65,000 words.Chapterâ… :Introduction. In this chapter, we mainly discuss the object, significance, and methods of research, as well as the sources of corpus. After combing through previous research results and acquiring an understanding of the recent research status, we discover some valuable language phenomena, and establish the purpose and direction of our research.Chapterâ…¡:Syntactic Analysis. We combine the previous research and the realities of language, which are reflected by our self-corpus and then give a range of the important "if" class Postulate Conjunctions. We investigate the sentences which consist of Postulate Conjunctions in order to distinguish the simple sentence, the complex sentence, and the non-independent postulate sentence. We then only focus on the complex sentences, which involve Postulate Conjunctions, and we analyze them in different aspects, such as the mood, order, and form of the sentences. In addition, we investigate the syntactic position, collocation, and concurrence (patterns) of the "if" class Postulate Conjunctions.Chapterâ…¢:Semantic Analysis. Using syntactic category theory and the comparative method, we inspect and analyze the grammar meaning of the "if "class Postulate Conjunctions, and find out the differences among the members in this group. We then attempt to explain the syntactic phenomena from a semantic standpoint. We analyze the mood of postulate-imperative sentences, the semantic differences caused by different syntactic positions, the semantic meaning in the omission of a subject in the postulate clause, etcetera. We also demonstrate that the collocation of the "if "class Postulate Conjunctions obeys the grammar laws. We explain the inner language motivation of this language phenomenon and establish its sequence.Chapterâ…£:Stylistic Analysis. According to the previous theory, we establish six modern Chinese styles. We analyze the "if" class Postulate Conjunctions and the related conjunctions in different styles, thereby determining the core members. We then separately analyze the mood, order, and form of the postulate conjunction sentences. Additionally, we analyze the sentence pattern of one stage of complex postulate conjunction sentences and then clarify which are core sentence patterns. This is followed by an analysis of the stylistic distribution of the "if" class Postulate Conjunctions and the related language factors. Finally, we explain the syntactic expression and semantic meaning of the "if "class Postulate Conjunctions and the related language phenomena from a stylistic standpoint.Chapter V:Epilogue. This chapter summarizes the achievements and insufficiencies of our research. It then proposes language issues which need to be researched in the future.
