Based on the Schema Theory and the cognitive theory of multimedia learning, using empirical research, experiment and questionnaire as well as interview, this thesis compares the effects of six different groups, which are introduced background via audio, text, audio&text, audio&text&video, audio&picture, text&picture. The introduction expounds the motivation and significance of this thesis. The first chapter presents the theory basis of this research, briefing the design concept of this experiment. As the main part of this thesis, the second to the seventh chapters compares the effects of six different groups. The last chapter comes up with some suggestions on how to introduce background with effective methods. Afterwards, its limitation is also mentioned.We could draw those conclusions based on this research:There are eight comparisons without obvious differences,1, audio introduction is slightly better than text introduction; 2, audio&text introduction is slightly better than audio introduction; 3, audio&picture introduction is slightly better than audio introduction; 4, audio introduction is slightly better than text&picture introduction; 5, audio&picture introduction is slightly better than text introduction; 6, text introduction is slightly better text&picture introduction; 7, audio&text introduction is slightly audio&picture introduction; 8, audio&picture introduction is slightly better than text&picture introduction. There are seven comparisons with obvious differences, 1,audio introduction is significantly better than audio&text&video introduction; 2, audio&text introduction is significantly better than text introduction; 3,text introduction is significantly better than audio&text&video introduction; 4, audio&text introduction is significantly better than audio&text&video introduction; 5,audio&text introduction is significantly better than text&picture introduction; 6,audio&picture introduction is significantly better than audio&text&video introduction; 7,text&picture introduction is significantly better than audio&text&video introduction.
