The Research Of The Evolution And Significance Of Bai Juyi's "the Middle Reclusion" From The Angle Of The Political Life

This thesis research the reason of the evolution of Bai Juyi's "the Middle Reclusion" from the angle of the political life, and investigate the partial historical fact by the reference work. It demonstrates the process about the evolution and the connotation of "the Middle Reclusion". Bai Juyi's "the Middle Reclusion" is not only a static conception. It has three stages:The first stage is "consideration to the participation behavior and the reclusion", when he held the appointment as the gonfalonier of Hangzhou. The second stage is " enjoy the seclusion life at the officialdom",when he held the appointment as the gonfalonier of Suzhou. But in this stage, his pursuit of body is different from his inner pursuit. Though the third stage also is " enjoy the seclusion life at the officialdom", his pursuit of body is consistent with his inner pursuit in this stage. The connotation of the third stage is the the ultimate meaning of "the Middle Reclusion". This thesis also discusses the relation between the Middle Reclusion and Bai's terminal thought, commentates the significance for Bai Juyi self and the society at that time. The most important significance of "the Middle Reclusion" is the characteristic which effectiveness is strong.
