Plain, as one of the important aesthetic styles of Chinese ancient literary theory, develop to its summit in Song dynasty. As early as in Wei-Jin period, the thought about plain of Taoism had been developed to an aesthetic thought. What is showed in ((New Anecdotes of the Time》,is just a kind of plain style from a plain ideal of life.However, the plain style in Jin dynasty is different from the one in Song dynasty. The truth that the plain style of Tao Yuanming's Poem isn't been accepted in Jin dynasty, but prevalent in Song dynasty has proved the difference between plain styles in the above dynasties. The past researches have found the feature of plain style in Jin dynasty, and often define it as "qing". This conclusion comes out from appearance, but not deep intension. The purpose of the paper is to highlight the feature "qing" and find its deep intension by a comparison between plain styles in the above dynasties. And the comparison begins with the problem of Tao Yuanming's Poem's acceptation. Firstly, let's prove the influence of different Social ideological trends to plain styles by analysis that the plain style of Tao Yuanming's Poem is departure from the whole style of Jin dynasty but fits to the whole style of Song dynasty. Secondly, explore the difference above two plain styles through national aesthetic psychological. Finally, prove the difference of the two plain styles by the examples "Mingshi" and "Jushi". In a word, the meaning and purpose of the paper is to find deep intension of "qing",as well as to highlight this feature by concrete analysis about《New Anecdotes of the Time》and comparison between plain styles in Jin dynasty and Song dynasty respectively.
