The Reception Phenomena Of Tao Yuanming's Poem And The Establishment Of "Plain Style" In Song Dynasty Poetics

"Plain style" is an important literary and aesthetic category which has been embodied with historical basis and profound nationality spirits. But, this aesthetic model is not highly recognized until it has been well interpreted and advocated by the accepter in Song Dynasty. It is by Song Dynasty poetics that Tao Yuanming and his poems' reputation is greatly increased, and thus decides the significant status of "Plain style" in Chinese poetics and aesthetic history. At the same time, the discovering of Tao Yuanming's value and the establishing of "Plain style" is in accordance with the aesthetic change since mid-Tang Dynasty, and even the change of feudal society from the former to the latter period.This thesis aims at the above literary and aesthetic phenomena, studies the interpretation of Tao Yuanming's poems and advocation of "Plain style" of Song Dynasty poetics, and continues to analyze the relationship and significance between such phenomena and the aesthetic change in Chinese history, referring to the western hermeneutics and reception theories. In addition, the last chapter tries to initially analyze the hermeneutics phenomena of interpreting Du Fu and Tao Yuanming's poems nearly at the same time and to the same extent.Recently, it gradually becomes a research hotspot to study the reception phenomena of Tao Yuanming's poem in history. This thesis intends to make forward the study with a new point of view and broad vision field.
