Wei Chung-hsienism as fictional and dramatic them is a new concept proposed to conduct a comprehensive study of the current-affair fiction and drama of the similar themes in Late Ming and Early Qing dynasties. During this period, the political situation is unpredictable, revolutions, military conflicts broke out frequently. Acute sense of crisis and sense of mission urge the writers to express their point of views through words. Wei Chung-hsienism as fictional and dramatic theme arises at this historic moment. It is a significant part of the current-affair novel and drama, with its unique value.During the reign of Emperor Tian Qi, the eunuch Wei Chung-hsien get on position, the government officials and scholars are persecuted. After Emperor Chongzhen succeeded to the throne, he punished Wei chung-hsien seriously for the crimes he committed, a series of unjustly repudiated cases are exonerated. However, Emperor Chongzhen's new deal failed to bring Great Renaissance to the Dynasty. Ming Dynasty ends at the 17th year of Emperor Chongzhen's reign; in a short period, the nation changes its owner for a few times.The writers of Wei chung-hsien's contemporaries composed a lot of novels and dramas on Emperor Chongzhen's New Deal and the Replacement of Ming Dynasty by Qing Dynasty, revealing the national disaster caused by Wei Chung-hsien's tyranny, eulogizing the loyalty of Donglin Party. These works present to us a comprehensive perspective of the political, historical and literal features in Late Ming and Early Qing dynasties.However let us think about it from aspect of phylogeny,it is evident that the authors care more about the novels and less about the dramas, and their writings are of no great literary merit.Therefore,the works should be analyzed from the perspectives of political clout rather than the aesthetic value.The trend in earlier studies is pay more attention to novels rather than dramas,and unfortunately scholars has yet to see any real integrative research.By studying on Wei chung-hsienism as fictional and dramatic theme, the thesis try to focus on the textual content and historical connotation, and this is more of a macro-study, a very modest initial attempt.The firsr part serves mainly as an overview, including the generating background, the relationship between the works, and external factor making it lost.We will go into greater detail in the second,the third and the fourth part.By analyzing the basic characteristics of different characters,the theme of the writings is well grasped in this section,and the lives of Yan Lian is fully described in the next sections.Although most examples in this article focus on political function and aesthetic value, the loyalty sense and causal concepts are studied in the last part as well.
