Studies On Nowadays Vulgar Tone Phonetic System Of Si Sheng Tong Jie

Si Sheng Tong Jie is written by the famous Korea linguist Cui Shizhen,it is a compiled Rhyming Dictionary finished at the beginning of the sixteenth century. Si Sheng Tong Jie is based on Hong Wu Zheng Yun and Hong Wu Zheng Yun Yi Xun, also records the situation of the voice at that time.so this book reflects three voice systems, that is, pronunciation system, vulgar tone phonological system, nowadays vulgar tone phonological system.This paper analyzed and discussed the nowadays vulgar tone phonological system by five parts:introduction,the initial consonant system, final sounds system, tone system and syllable chart.The major Characteristics of the initial consonant system are:voiced obstruent devoicing; Yi confused Yu with Ying.Wei verged to disappear,changed into zero initial; retroflection initials turned up.The major Characteristics of the final sounds system are:apical vowel emerged; abrupt tone disappeared;-m merged into -n; the velar sounds and labial sounds of Geng confused with Dong; Final sounds of Qin,Tan,Yan respectively combined with Final sounds of Zhenwen,Hanshan,Xian; Final sounds of Qi combined with Final sounds of Zhi;Closed changed into openings in Zhen and Wen of labial; Closed of Yang changed into openings in Zhuang group. Final sounds of Xiao combined with Final sounds of Yao.In the tone system of Si Sheng Tong Jie nowadays vulgar tone phonological system, Ping sheng is divided into Yinping and Yangping, Shangsheng changed into Qusheng. Ru sheng disappeared, combined with the other three tone sounds.Syllable chart is the reflection of nowadays vulgar tone phonological structure.
