Narrative mode is about type of relations between narrator and his/her story. Since a narrator must unfold the plot, figures of a story to readers, giving out value judgement over the of feelings and mind described in the novelistic world, the narrator always has to adopt a certain mode in narrative. Researchers over novelistic narrative from past or present, at home or abroad, may vary a lot in details in building their own theoretical modes, yet on the whole and coincidently, they all angle at the aspects of narrative time, space, angle and distance. In the ancient Chinese and Korean novels, coherent narrative with one figure and one story was basically the form in terms of narrative time, non-realistic space was extensively taken into use regarding narrative space, in the narrative angle of view, omnicient vision was fundamentally employed, as for narrative distance, liable narrator was adopted. This conventional novelistic mode was seriously challenged by the western literary theory in the 20' s of 20th Century. In serial course of 'dialogue' , actively transplanting the patterns of foreign novels and creatively transforming the conventional literature in patterns, jointly contributed the transformation in the narrative mode of Chinese and Korean novels. In the course of transformation, both Lu Xun and Hyon Chingon played critical roles in the literature fields of China and Korea. Lu Xun was applauded as " the National Spirit and the Standard-bearer in the China New Cultural Compaign" , his artful employment of Western Fictional Skills in the " Diary of a Madman" , which was totally different from the conventional China' s storytelling methods, made him the short novel ancestor in the contemporary China literary history. The reason why Lu Xun could realize the organic embedment in style and transformation in narration, is that he had the super accomplishment in China' s and Western culture. Hyon Chingon was hailed as "Korean Maupassant" , who initiated the anti-imperialism with his clear sense and sharp intelligence. He is also the pioneer and prominent master in Novelette and Short Story of Contemporary Korean Literature, his advocacy of "Korea Spirit and the Grasp of Modern Spirit" has critical influence to the development of Korea Contemporary Literature. With the comprehensive use of comparative literary theory and relating theories in Narratology, from four aspects, the study analyzes and proves the similarities and differences in the Transformation of Narrative Mode of Lu Xun and Hyon Chingon' s short stories from conventional to modern mode. Transformation in Narrative Time, story time cut down, increasing and repetition of text time largely adopted; Transformation in Narrative Space,Non-realistic Space massively cut down, the Realistic Space Mode put into use and comparatively concentrated trend appeared in terms of space; Transformation in Narrative View, large amount of omnicient vision disappeared, abundant limited angle of view and the multiplicity trend for the first person narrator have come to pass; Transformation in Narrative Distance, "Dramatized" narrator, Unreliable narrator and "Polyphonic" Narrative have come into existence.Comparative studies over Chinese and Korean Short Novels from the 20' s of 20th Century, are mainly angled at the content of novels, while very few are done in terms of novel forms or novel patterns. Therefore, the study focusing on the narrative mode is a new attempt, expecting to contribute in enriching and improving the comparative study over narrative mode of Chinese and Korean novels, in further developing the comparative study of Sino-Korea' s literature and cultural exchange.
