As a purely private discourse, letters that have no intention to publish provide us new materials and new perspective to grasp Barking. Barking has too many letters, and his coverage is too broad that it makes everyone too difficult to make proper response. But the embarrassment is researching letters remains weak at moment, and one of the areas urgent needs to expand.Currently, a number of letters that Li Jian wu wrote to Barking in his later years have been sorted out. These letters were written in later period of Cultural Revolution and New Era. They detailed the life, work and spirit of modern Chinese writers, etc. Discovering the missing letters makes the corresponding about Barking and Li Jianwu acquires continuity and integrity, makes the image of Barking and Li Jianwu in later years more plentiful. So they are precious materials to research spiritual experience of modern intellectuals in period's turning point.Therefore, based on the identity, this article views the existing letters and comments on the whole relationship of Barking and Li Jianwu, analyzes intellectuals'survival condition in later period of Cultural Revolution and New Era, as well as their life choices, spirit and mission in special years, so as to succeed in finding a small letters Cultural Revolution museum from letters.
