The Study On Fan Chengda's Shihu Ci

Fan Chengda was not only a famous poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, but also expert in writing Ci, which got a highly praised and was popular in Fan's lifetime, and was approved by critics. Now there's a volume of Shihu Ci spreading in the world. To observe it, we will find the subject is rich and colorful. It includes not the traditional theme about feasting and men and women's missing, but the dispositions of Fan Chengda himself, such as the patriotic and loyal feelings, homesickness, grief and depressions when his dream blighted, and then withdrawing from the society and describing the leisure life appeals when he returned Shihu at his old age. And Shihu Ci formed a certain artistic feature, which consists of four sides as follows: elegance and Masatada, the qingkuang's style, the compact and accessible language and tactfully syllable. The elegance and Masatada feature was not only due to the formation of noble character of Fan Chengda and his following about the gentle poetry principle of Confucian, but also due to Fan's a Ascot life and his excellent skills at dealing with the relationship between feelings and sceneries. Although the style of Shihu Ci shows soft, bold and leisure sometimes, the main style of Shihu Ci is qingkuang, which come back to Fan's clear mind, the world and life view that influenced by Buddhism and Taoism, learning from Su Shi, the moon image selection and the artistic conception of Ci. Because of the compact words, Shihu Ci often received such an artistic effect that'an appropriate word, a living sentence'. Fan Chengda usually used the accessible language in Shihu Ci instead of using a large amount of Buddhism words in his poems. Moreover Fan Chengda paid a special attention to lyrics and music that made his creations easily to song. Fan Chengda began to create Ci from Gao Zong to Xiao Zong period, so his creations was affected by the Ci world atmosphere of Gao Zong and Xiao Zong periods, and the relationship between the Jin Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty also did the artistic style changed from one situation to another. At the beginning of writing ci, Fan Chengda imitated Qin Guan's soft style, which was the performance of Da Sheng ci. Later he tried to express his kinds of feelings in ci, and the style took on qingkuang. The reasons included both the relationship between Song and Jin Dynasties and the the inheritance of Su Shi poetry innovation. We can say that in the process of Su Shi acceptance in the Southern Song dynasty, Fan's efforts should be affirmed. On the other hand, Fan made friends with Jiang Kui who was the pathfinder of Sao Ya ci of Southern Song Dynasty. They demonstrated their temperament. From the two contacts, Jiang Kui's pursuit of elegance which also showed in Fan's creations, the Shihu Ci, to some extent, played an indirect role in the development of Sao Ya ci. Therefore, Shihu Ci's continuity status should be constructed.
