Objective:To evaluate the correlation between benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH) and cardiovascular risk factors, and research the possible risk factors of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Method:We sellected the 254 cases who lived in the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang medical university through TURP operation and pathology , and were confirmed the diagnosis of BPH, from 2008 November to 2009 October. The 248 random contrast samples were collected in check-up center of the first affiliated hospital of Xinjiang medical university, and the check-up personnel who were expelled BPH is matched control at the same period . All cases are male whose age are older than 60 years old. Every case was carried on a questionnaire ,which include IPSS, the history of hypertension, diabetes and smoke cigarettes, and measure height, weight, blood pressure, test the level of blood fat and blood sugar. Comparative studies were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analyses to comprehend the possible cardiovascular risk factors of BPH. Result:Single factor analysis manifest: age, excess/fat and hypertension history have statistics meaning with BPH(P﹤0.05),while smoke, diabetes and hyperlipidemia was not(P﹥0.05); the logistic regression analysis showed: age, excess/fat and the hypertension history may increase the danger to BPH.(OR 1.592,1.490,1.654,95%CI 1.337~1.897,1.158~1.918,1.434~2.394,P﹤0.05). Conclusion:BPH is a result of many factors coefficient. Age, excess/fat and hypertension were all prominent predictors of BPH. Control the weight, blood pressure maybe rev down the increase of prostate gland living , and take positive effect on prevention and cure of BPH.
