Objective To analyze the coronary artery calcification distribution and score between Han nationality and Uygur nationality in Xinjiang, and to compare the characteristics of the two groups. Methods 881 patients with coronary heart disease who had coronary artery imaging and calcification score examination underwent 64-slice MDCT in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively from February 2007 to June 2009.They were divided into two groups according to the nationality. The coronary artery calcification distribution and score were statistically analyzed before comparison. Resultsâ‘ The peak prevalence rate of calcification was observed in LAD, then RCA, and LCA, finally LMA. No statistical difference was found in the calcification location between Uygur patients and Han patients(P>0.05),but complicated lesions were dominant in the Uygurs(P<0.05).â‘¡No statistical difference of coronary artery calcification score was found between Uygur patients and Han patients (P>0.05).No statistical difference of coronary artery calcification score was found between the two groups with homogeneity(P>0.05). The coronary artery calcification elevated in both groups with the process of aging. The study showed that the coronary artery calcification score of LAD , LCX and TCS was higher in Uygur patients than those of Hans in the age between 50 and 59 (P<0.05),but the other groups were not statistical different in the same age. Conclusions There are some diffences in coronary calcification distribution and score between Uygur and Han patients, complicated lesions are dominant in the Uygurs, and there is more coronary artery calcification score compared with Han patients in the middle age.
