Objective:Through learning about the situation of minority nursing human resource , understand the current status of turnover minority nurses and the job satisfaction of minority nursing staff of comprehensive hospitals above second grade in Xinjiang to supply some reference for rationally distributing nursing human resource and provide the basis for the health administration department of Xinjiang to make practical policy in minority nursing field. Methods:the questionnaire of minority nursing current status in Xinjiang was used to investigate the 68 comprehensive hospitals above second grade hospitals and the data about the allocation of turnover minority nurses, such as the sum , distribution , age, education background , professional title structure and allocation , the questionnaire of nuses job satisfaction used to investigate the 1065 minority nurses.Results: 1) the number of total nurses in 60 comprehensive hospitals above second grade is 14 717 nurses, Minority nurses accounted 32.30% of the total nurses with the number of 4 753 minority nurses; The age mainly distributed 25~34 years old group which accounted for 33.30%; The main diploma was poly technic school,which accounted for 55.53%;The main proportions of professional title was primary ,which accounted for 60.77%, The academic Structure and the professional Structure of nursing staff in third grade significantly differ from that in second grade(P <0.01), the minority temporarily appointed nurses accounted for 45.41% , The proportion of temporarily appointed nurses in the third grade hospitals was higher than in the second grade hospitals(P <0.01);2) the number of total turnover nurses in 60 comprehensive hospitals above second grade from time 2006 t o 2008 is 1 133 nurses, Minority turnover nurses accounted 25.07% of the total nurses with the number of 284; The age of turnover nurses mainly distributed 21~29 years and 30~39 years old group which accounted for44.27% and 36.45% respectively ; the proportion of technical secondary school graduates account for the largest proportion. 3) In NJSQ,the highest score of each item was 4,while the lowest was 1.The total score,composed of 48 items was 180, minimum score of 68,maximum of 166, average score was 109.614±21.451. Significant differences were found in the total NJSQ's score assessment according to related factors ,such as employment contract ,practicing years,post and rank and so on.Conclusion:The structure of minority nursing staff in Xinjiang is not reasonable, The minority nurses with high diploma and high professional title are short, which Limit the development of nursing team and discipline in Xinjiang; Contract minority nurses have become the main part of minority nursing staff in Xinjiang;The rate of ran off in Contracted nurse is higher than formal nurse, the rate of ran off in the primary class and lower professional title nurse is higher than senior nurse ;The total degree of job satisfaction was at the medium level, administers should improve the nurse job satisfaction, and strengthen humanity management.
