Objective To investigatethe the relationship of 10 gram ni-long wire pressure perception ,vascular endothelial growth factor, glycated hemoglobin, tumour necrosis factor alpha,ankle-brachial index et al among the risk levels of foot ulcers in Type 2 diabetes. Methods 37 patients with Type 2 diabetes were enrolled.Body mass index,waist-hip ratioand ankle brachial index were examined. Fasting glucose ,glycohemoglobin, blood pressure,t otal cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein-cholestero,C- reactive protein, tumor necrosis factor-a , vascular endothelial growth factor, 24-hour urinary protein ,10 gram ni-long wire pressure perception and vibration perception threshold inspection. Patients were asked about the diabetic duration , and were divided into high-ri- sk group, middle-risk group and low-risk group according to the result of vib- ration perception threshold .Results 1. The abnormal rate of 10 gram ni-long wire pressure perce- ption in the high-risk group in type 2 d- iabetes increased significantly comp- ared with the rate in the low-risk group.2. Glycated hemoglobin in the low-risk group was significantly lower than that in the middle-risk group; vascular end- othelial growth factor in the low-risk group was significantly lower than that in the high-risk group; triglycerides in the low-risk group was significantly lower than that in the high-risk group. Conclusion Elevated glycated hemoglobin, vascular endothelial growth factor, triglycerides and abnormal 10 gram ni-long wire pressure perception played important role in the development of foot ulcer risk and were likely to indicate an increased risk of foot ulcers in type 2 diabetes. Abnormal glucose metabolism or abnormal triglyceride in type 2 diabetes was factor of early nerve damage, elevated vascular endothelial growth factor suggested probablely the existence of early nerve damage in type 2 diabetes, abnormal 10 gram ni-long wire pressure perception could reflect early diabetic neuropathy ,and could be used for screening diabetic patients with early high-risk foot ulcers.
