As a cultural phenomenon, disease link with people's living environment, religion, habits and customs. According to the fieldwork research of old chronic diseases in Naka village of Mengla county, this paper applied theories and methods of Ethnoecology to explore the relationship between the village of old chronic diseases and the ecological environment, the culture, compared the sequence of old chronic disease and its reason among the Naka village, Mengban town ,and Mengla county , analized cognition about chronic disease and health-seeking behavior of the old in Naka village , also analized the walled sacred tree and temple's role in the mental health of older. Concluded that different ecological environment and culture causes different effects on people's health. So we should pay more attention to the regional cultural elements, which is a very important function in the cultural construction of prevention and treatment disease in the elderly. We should respect national culture, use the positive factors of the local culture to prevent and treat the diseases. This paper provides a case for reference for the elderly health cultural interference. It is good for Chinese government make scientific decision and management in old-age work, especially the border areas'older chronic non-communicable diseases prevention and control, providing scientific basis for certain.The paper consists of five chapters as the followings:Chapter 1 Introduction. Introduced the research topics, theory and methods of research and literature review.Chapter 2 Naka village. A brief introduction on the field site. It introduces the livelihood way of the people and the microhabitat in Naka village.Chapter 3 The relationship between the old peoples'chronic disease and environment, culture. Described the old chronic diseases,and explored the relationship between the old chronic diseases and ecological culture in Naka village, then compared the basic condition of the old chronic diseases among the hospital of Mengla county ,the hospital of Mengban town and Naka village. In conclusion ecological environment and culture influence the old chronic disease . Chapter 4 Cognition about disease and health-seeking behavior of the old in Naka village. From the viewpoint of ethnoecology, according to the cognition about disease and health-seeking behavior of the old in Naka village in-depth study, which involved calling the soul, the mouth reactive, the national pharmaceutical knowledge of Naka Villager and Walled sacred tree, temple's role in physical and mental health of older.Chapter 5 Conclusion. On base of the research mentioned above, the following conclusions are: Different ecological environment and culture will cause different effects on people's health. We should pay more attention to the regional cultural elements, which is a very important function in the cultural construction about prevention and treatment of disease in the elderly. Respect for the culture, use the positive factors of the local culture to prevent and treat diseases.
