Experimental Study Of Cholinergic Effects Of Water Extract Of Bidens

Dry eye is a common clinical ophthalmology ocular surface disease, which is the result of tear film instability caused by abnormal the quality and quantity of tear dynamics.Dry eye has discomfort eye symptoms such as eye-driness, photophobia, foreign body sensation,asthenopia and so on.Resulting in ocular surface tissue lesions characterized by a general term for diseases. Dry eye has a high incidence and has no effective treatment now. Our early experimental and clinical observations show that the Bidens's effective treatment of dry eye,but its mechanism is not clear.We speculate the Bidens may contain cholinergic receptors andwe attempts to explord this mechanism from this study.Objective:Discuss whether does water extract of Bidens have cholinergic function and where is its effective parts.Methods:Observe the impact of water extracts of Bidens on isolated guinea pig ileum and whether there is antagonism with atropine.Results:Results show that compare with control group,extract of Bidens and butanol exraction and water section effection of isolated guinea pig ileum were statistically significant results(p<0.05).And this effect increased with the rise of concentration(p<0.05).Atropine has antagonistic effects on the water extract of Bidens,the result was statistically significant(p<0.05).Conclusion:Water extract of Bidens have cholinergic effects,its effective spot mainly concentrated in parts of butanol extradtion and water section.
