Research On Crispness For Calcined Chinese Traditional Medicine

Most traditional Chinese mineral crude drugs can act as drugs after calcination. At present, generally, the qualities of calcined drugs are evaluated mainly by sensory experiences and qualitative descriptions of form, color, texture, odor while the absence of objective and quantitative indexes, and even no scientific, stable and objective methods can be used to precisely evaluate the quality of Yin Pian or control the process of production, which can not satisfy the needs of the quality control of TCM Yin Pian or suitable for the needs of TCM Yin Pian processing.Because the lacking of standard, the qualities of calcined drugs can not be controlled effectively during practical production, which leads to great difficulties in follow-up testing, supervising and monitoring the quality of TCM Yin Pian. Therefore, taking mineral drugs Pyritum as an example, this paper aims to provide quantitative evaluation indexes for mineral drugs and their calcined drugs through systematic analysis It reviews traditional and modern quality evaluation methods of calcined drugs and investigates a method, which controls the qualities of calcined drugs through their crispness reflected by density changes, to explore the feasibility of its application. On this basis, by drawing on the density measurement methods of rock, ceramics and other similar industries, an accurate and simple density measurement method of mineral drugs and their calcined drugs is established. Since the advantages and disadvantages of the qualities of mineral drugs have direct impacts on that of their calcined drugs, thus by the studies of traditional quality evaluation methods and the correlation of modern quality evaluation methods and density, to exam the feasibility of using density to control the qualities of mineral drugs, and the method established above has low cost and convenient testing. The study of crispness applied on Pyritum calcined drugs proves the feasibility of using crispness to control the qualities of the calcined drugs and reveals crisp principles by means of modern analytic techniques, which provides a new method and means to control the qualities of calcined drugs.Furthermore, to solve the problems and inadequacies exposed by the use of existing calcination furnace during the experimental process, and to reduce air pollution and toxicity to people, an environmental protection type calcination furnace has been designed, which is able to link up with production.
