Objective:To investigate and analysis the clinical features of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) through 292 cases of childbearing age women in Zunyi region for the purpose of providing a possible guidance of the next census of early diagnosis and reasonable treatment PCOS.Methods:292 patients in childbearing age with PCOS from November 2007 and September 2009 at Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College were selected. Meanwhile 201 childbearing age women with tubal infertility or male factor infertility were chosen as the control group. The symptoms, serological characteristics, ultrasonographic characteristics and parties of endometrial pathology were investigated. 292 PCOS patients were divided into three groups according to the age as 20-24, 25-29 and≥30, and the body mass index (BMI) as BMI<23,23≤BMI<25 and BMI>25.Results:1. The common clinical signs of childbearing age PCOS patients in the local area were in the order as follows:ultrasonic signs of polycystic ovary (95.89%), menstrual disorder (89.38%), infertility (77.74%), LH/FSH ratio≥2 (49.32%), acne (36.99%), obesity (31.51%), hirsutism (9.59%, F-G≥6).2. Taking F-G score was more than 2 as the threshold of hirsutism standards, the incidence of hirsutism is 30.82%.3. In the PCOS group, LH, E2, T and LH/FSH were higher than those of control group (P<0.01).4. The age of the patients were older than 30 had a higher prevalence of dyslipidemia than those in two groups of age 20-24 and 25-29 (P<0.05). 5.Testosterone in PCOS patients both in 23≤BMI<25 group and BMI≥25 group were higher than that in BMI<23 group (P<0.05). INS and the prevalence of IR of PCOS patients in 23≤BMI<25 group and BMI>25 group were higher than those in BMI<23 group (P<0.01). The prevalence of dyslipidemia of PCOS patients in BMI>25 group were higher than that in 232 could be used as one indicator to screen out PCOS patients in Zunyi.3. As to criteria of hirsutism, F-G score more than 2 may be more suitable for people in Zunyi.4. PCOS patients with obesity have more serious endocrine disorders.
