[Objective]To explore the prevalence and characters of the polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in general population of Han ethnic in Shenzhen city. To determine a suitable standard of hirsutism for PCOS patients living in Shenzhen.[Method](1)With cluster sampling epidemic method,808 women from Shenzhen city were investigated by ESHRE/ASRM criteria. (2) Analysis clinical manifestations and glucose metabolism of 53 cases PCOS was diagnosed in common people, and compared to 106 normal women with the same period, no acne, no hirsutism and without polycystic ovary performancec (control group). (3) Investigating the distribution of body hair in 616 cases of ordinary women of childbearing age by the score system described by Ferriman and Gallwey.[Result](1) According to the ESHRE/ASRM diagnostic criteria.53 PCOS patients were diagnosed in 808 subjects, the prevalence of PCOS in general Han ethnic population in Shenzhen city was accounted for 7.92%. PCOS accounted for 94.3% in<35 years old population groups. (2)Among all PCOS patients, polycystic ovary(PCO) was the most common clinical manifestations (88.7%), followed by menstrual abnormalities, and hyperandrogenism (86.8%/47.2%), rate of obesity was 9.4%, metabolic syndrome(MS) was 3.8%-11.3%; rates of infertility, gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM), Birth weight of children≥3900g, spontaneous abortion(SAB) were 33.3%, 22.22%,33.3%,33.3% in married PCOS women. (3)By ESHRE/ASRM diagnostic criteria, PCOS patients were divided into fully type (oligo-ovulation+hyperandrogenism+PCO), ovulation type (hyperandrogenism performance+PCO), non-hyperandrogenism type (oligo-ovulation+PCO) and the classic type (oligo-ovulation+hyperandrogenism), the proportion was 17.0%,13.2%,58.5%,11.3%.(4)With the corresponding age control group, aged 20 to 25 patients with PCOS menstrual cycle, the average number of small follicles, FG score, TES, and FAI were significantly different (P<0.01, P<0.05),aged 26 to 30 patients menstrual cycle, the average number of small follicles and TES were significantly different (P<0.01, P <0.05), aged 31 to 35 patients menstrual cycle, the average number of small follicles were significant differences (P<0.01),and the aged 36 to 40 patients compared the performance differences were not statistically significant. (5) Obese PCOS patients with body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, triglyceride(TG), fasting blood sugar (FBS), insulin resistance index (Homa-IR), fasting insulin (FINS) were higher than non-obese patients, insulin sensitivity index(ISI) lower than non-obese patients, including BMI, waist circumference, TG and non-obese PCOS group were compared, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01) (6) In the group of Shenzhen Han general women of childbearing age, body hair F-G scores showed a skewed distribution, the 95th percentile value of total F-G score was>6 scores.[Conclusions](1) According to the ESHRE/ASRM diagnostic criteria, the prevalence of PCOS in general Han population in Shenzhen city was accounted for 7.92%(2) PCO is given priority to Shenzhen Han ethnic women with PCOS, obesity rate has low incidence. Infertility, pregnancy complication rate has a high incidence. (3) The most common phenotype of PCOS in Shenzhen Han general women was non-hyperandrogenism type. (4) Clinical manifestations of oligo-ovulation, clinical and/or biochemical signs of hyperandrogenism, polycystic ovaries of PCOS change with age increase。PCOS with obesity is usually associated with glucose metabolic changes. (5) According to our investigation the suitable criterion of hirsutism for Chinese women in Shenzhen should be≥6 scores。...
