Objective:To investigate A1AT in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) and explore itsrole to BMI and sex hormones.Methods:1.Samples from patients with PCOS(n=41) and controls(n=16) were collected.Thelevels of A1AT were determined by ELISA.2.Folliclestimulatinghormone(FSH),Luteinizinghormone(LH),Prolactin(PRL),Testosterone(T), Estradiol(E2) were measured in41PCOS women and16women with normalmenstrual cycle;3.Collect the clinical information of the research objects, measure the height andweight,to calculate body mass index(BMI). To analyze the relationships between thesemarkers and A1AT.Results:1. Serum levels of A1AT in PCOS group (0.356±0.379mg/ml) were significantly lowercompared with the control group(2.393±0.792mg/ml)(P﹤0.001);2.A1AT levels were negatively and significantly correlated with BMI(-0.313,0.046),aswell as the control group(-0.573,0.020);3.A1AT levels were negatively and significantly correlated with T(-0.321,0.041),but itwas not found in control group;Conclusion:1.The level of serum A1AT in PCOS were significantly lower than that of the controlgroup, likely important mechanism leading to pathophysiological changes in PCOS.2. A significant negative correlation has been found between BMI and serum A1AT level, aswell as the control group,we hypothesize that the decrease of A1AT may closely relate toobesity.3.A significant negative correlation has been found between serum T and A1AT levels, but itwas not found in control group,we hypothesize that the changes of A1AT in PCOS mayclosely relate to hyperandrogenism of PCOS. |
