Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the methods of endoscopic third ventriculostomy treating the obstructive hydrocephalus. Methods: The clinical outcomes of 17 patients who underwent endoscopic third ventriculostomy from March,2008 to Tuesday,2009 were reviewed. Results: The clinical symptoms improved in 12 cases (70.59%), no change in 4 case (23.53%)s,1 case clinical symptoms worsened was diverted to ventriculo-peritoneal shunt. Complications occurred in10 cases with4 kinds and 15 times. Most of them were in short duration; there were no death correlated with endoscopic third ventriculostomy,and there are no permanent serious defects. Conclusion: Treatment of endoscopic third ventriculostomy in obstructive hydrocephalus is a worthwhile and effective way .It is very important to master surgical indications and control the complications of the treatment.
